OK so lately I've just been posting pretty pictures I've seen or found BUT I'm going to keep my shit together and start posting food and recipes and restaurants again. Mostly the reason for this is I have decided that some needs to let me travel around the world eating amazing food and I in turn could do a show or books or SOMETHING for you... That's the dream, and I don't really think it's too much to ask.

I had a conversation with my mother last week and she thinks I need to go to Anger Management classes, now im generally a pretty relaxed (high) person so the anger doesnt come on too frequently but its there. By trying to be good to myself and my lungs ive been trying to cut down on the smoking of the cheebs for a while, i thought I was doing fucking brilliantly until i realised two things, firstly; I was drinking at least a bottle of wine to myself a night and secondly; im fucking angry again, like really angry, like want to walk down the street with my arms as windmills and hit whoever gets in my way angry.

When mother dearest told me she thought I should 'talk it out' with someone of the professional variety i asked her exactly why she thought i should be doing that, her reply: "its that dealy calm voice you're using right now that scares the shit out of me". I then told her I would talk to her about it when I returned to Perth... I doubt she's going to pick me up from the airport now.

I should really learn to me a better daughter but i dont see how thats going to happen now, im too old to change my personality so im fucking stuck with it and so are all of you.

Im waiting for a few things at this very moment in time... the first and most utterly important one is that bear arrives this afternoon.
This means im counting down the next 37 minutes until I walk out my office door, meet him, crawl in his lap and possibly cry for close to an hour. Ive been saving tears just for him... then i might lick his face and get him to tell me about his life that is a fuck load more interesting then mine at the moment.

Getting older has bought to the forefront all the idiosyncrasies I thought I would grow out of... except they're getting worse, and all of the traits I prided myself on are becoming less and less.

I've become less outgoing, charming, intelligent and more awkward, intolerant, sarcastic. Did I not complete some part of my young adult years to satisfaction therefore these traits have been taken away and replaced with the poor cousin? Since I have decided that this bothers me somewhat I've been trying to decifer where these traits come from... now Astrology both western and chinese aren't incredibly accurate on the internet but this is what im going with, i dont care what you think is better, i really fucking dont.

I found the following that I think applies somewhat or a whole lot;

Transferable Obsessions...

Being a little flighty in general means my loyalties are extremely transferable when it comes to certain thing... anyone that knows me knows this, one day i absolutely live for something and the next it makes me want to be violently ill.

For 6 months last year I ate egg and lettuce sandwiches, they could ONLY be from the 7-11 (Mmmm nutricious) any others didnt compare... The best thing about this one was that I hate egg's, the smell, the texture, even mostly the taste unless they are soft boiled and have tin soldiers next to them.
I didnt realise how much I contradict myself until recently but im going to look at this as a positive rather than a negative.

Right now food isnt as much as a focus as wine has been... going through a break-up brings out my alcoholic tendancies and food takes a back seat, only really coming into play when Im starving and/or need to sober up.

Whilst drinking wine in bed I have had a chance to discover a few more obsessions of the veiwing, drinking and listening variety... they're below.

of the late i havent really had much time to care about / think about / eat food... unless of course its crispy pork (which goes without saying that its the king among foods, right phang?)

Lunch with the Doctor

Ive been sick, like proper sick but not dying or anything (just in case you were all going to send me flowers and money) so Dr. Jay picked me up and we went to lunch a few weeks ago.

I cant for the life of me remember what the pub was call, The Prince something on Victoria Street, Abbotsford.
Anyway... it was delicious food and naturally Jay had a 2 for 1 voucher so it was also a bargin.

One of the high(low)-lights to the meal was that our waiter was lacking any kind of intelligence and whilst that would normally make me pretty angry, I couldnt do anything but laugh.
When I asked if they could possibly do the scallops as a main instead of an entree I was informed that they only came in one size and it was this big (demonstrates the size of a scallop), so I gave up and had the Barramundi... how can you argue with that?

Mine was delicious and the skin was crispy which is the absolute most!
Jay had the steak special... i wont even go into what our waiter had to say about that!

Happy Marriage Day

Our flatmates got married on the weekend, it was beautiful, i being me cried like a baby.
Jessie walked down the aisle to November Rain (it pretty much sold me to the fact that I think she is super rad) and looked stunning whilst the dashing groom posed at the alter.
We then all got drunk and had a house party... all in all sucessful day I would think!

Oyster on Little Bourke

It was time again for Secret Surprise Friday with Miss Sammy.
This time I took her too Oyster which has the most amaing lay out EVER.
It feels like a old New York loft, not that I have been to one but I imagine this would be the case.
Morgan got the night off work so he came along too (yay)

Morgan ordered the Vegtarian Gnocchi and it stole the show over the seafood... it was like magic!

I had the 3 Cheese Gratin Oysters which were so delicious

And Miss Sammy had the Barramundi, she enjoyed this thoroughly

We also had the loveliest waitress who was more than accommodating and really friendly which you dont often find in more expensive places.
Ill definitely go back!

Borsch Vodka & Tears

While Bee and Nelly where here we did a little tour to the 'other' side of town, which has probably happened about 4 times sinece I moved here.
So after our little walk around St Kilda and Chapel Street, Bee desperately wanted to go tob this restaurant/bar... so we went.
It was amazing!
AND ALL THE VODKA... I suggested that I should be their taster, they didnt buy it but I might keep trying.

Nelly had the honey vodka prawns which I didnt take a photo of because of the vodka probably.
Bee had the russian style chicken stroganoff which looked delicious

Morgan and I shared the potato cakes and potato dumplings, both with a sour cream-ish sauce, they were fucking delightful.

There were martini's drank, also a lot of vodka and other goodies.
Im going back the first chance I get.

Weekend away at the beach house

Lunch at The Napier

A few weeks ago I met Morgan and Mike at the Napier for some delicious lunch before a school skate.

I had the Mushroom Wellington with Mash and Beans, it was delightful

Morgan had the Red Lentil Pie with other stuff... it was a bit curry for my liking but he enjoyed it

And Mike had the Three Type Bangers and Mash which he said was excellent!

All round delicious meals, that Napier is consistantly damn good and they have the second best pool table in Fitzroy.

BEST SECRET SATURDAY SURPRISE EVER!

So im about 3 million weeks too late with this post and im sure that anyone that I have actually spoken to would know about this in intimate detail but im going to post it anyway...

Sammy (one of the best people ever) took me on a secret surprise saturday date and she took me too NOBU!
So I was a little bit too excited and forgot to take photos of some things but this is what we ate...

Nobu style Salmon Sashimi

The a broc salad and also a lobster salad with lemon dressing, Sammy didnt like the lobster one, I think mainly because of the lemon, it was overpowering!

I forgot to take a photo of our favourite the soft shell crab...
But then we had their famous dish, the black cod in miso which was incredible!!!

And then the sushi...

They recommended that we have 7 sharing dishes between the two of us and thinking they would be small we did just that, by the time our sushi came we were so full that we could even eat it!
Nobu is my most favourite at the moment.

We love the Union, its our local... but we haven't eaten there is a long time.
So Saturday was all cold and stuff and we decided a fire and a pool table were the key ingredients to a good meal!

Im about a week behind on everything at the moment... I dont think anyone would be surprised!

Last week I met the lovely Sammy in China Town, we went to The New Kum Den. Its one of our faves and we ordered pretty much the same as before;

And wine... we always drink wine.

I havent been doing a lot of anything, but i drank some drinks and got pushed home on a skateboard.
Oh and I have been watching a lot of Gossip Girl and Tru Blood... I want to be an upper east side vampire I have decided.

Beach House Weekend

Morgan's family just finished building their beach house down on Golden Beach (is it down or across, ahhh i dont know) so whilst my mama was here we all went down to have a big celebration for the house! Yay.

We ate a lot and went to the beach.
Oh and there was cheese.... I love cheese!

I think its called Umigo's or something... and the service was shite.
I think we waited a long time for our food, I cant remember how long because I drank all the wine (as per usual) whilst I was waiting.

Mums had the steak with peppercorn sauce and I has a seafood pizza (they mistakenly bought me the seafood spagetti, devo!)

The food wasnt bad, but i probably would have thought card board tasted good at that stage.

My twin lady is over in Jakarta for work so I sent her on a food mission which she embraced fully!

Mums is over for a visit... so that generally means we eat lots of yummy things at lots of yummy places.
I like all things that are of the delicious variety.

And I had a dozen oysters morney with a glass of pinot noir... i forget which one.

I very rarely head over the 'other-side' (the other side being south of the river) so when two of my lovely girlfriends thought we should have dinner at this hotel I was a little wary of what it would be like.
It turned out to be quite nice, we got a lovely booth, had great service and the food was sublime (I naturally forgot to take photos out of excitement) the only thing was everytime you left the table there were a lot of dickheads and by a lot i mean pretty much the entire place.
Am I getting old and bitter or do they have breeding places?

Friday Night = Korean BBQ Night

Friday night is now a fairly large blur for me... it included (but was not limited too) A dinner with Sammy before she flew to Perth, a housewarming party, a rolled ankle and a MASSIVE beer/wine dog woofing in my head on Saturday morning.

Lets have a look at the food...
Sammy had BBQ Pork Ribs, she loved them

I had the Prawns, they were huge!

Mushroom Burgers... Mmmm

Before I start with the pitures I must be honest, I got way too excited about eating the food I didnt take a proper burger photo, that went in my large cave-like stomach... anyway I went to Lys and Vinnies for dinner, Lys is the best cook and always comes out with amazing new recipes (I mean how many vege recipes can one think of!)

So on the menu was mushroom and cheese patties for burgers, with olive bread.

Then for desert we had self-saucing chocolate pudding... again i got way too excited and ate most of it before taking a photo.
I think thats something that might happen often... Eeeep

And then I got to have cuddles with this fellow.

Mexicali Rose & Reggie Watts

So first post... whoo!

Last night we went to Mexicali Rose for dinner in Richmond before seeing the amazing Reggie Watts.

We ate light so we wouldnt fall asleep on our feet during the show (its happened before!)

Nachos are pretty much one of my favourite things...

And then my favourite dish in the entire world, I decided if I was on death row that this is what I would eat!

Then we drank some dranks and lurked before seeing Reggie Watts, the most incredible he was... youtube that.
